     BIO

Having traveled to 50+ countries on five continents, Dorothy Pecoraro Bertram is a self-described investigative voyager, and, as such, global social issues are proximately interwoven in all her screenplays. Born in Orlando and raised in Buffalo, she holds a degree from Istituto Europeo di Design (Milan) and has also studied film at UCLA and NYU. Garnering critical acclaim, Dorothy’s works promote sociological and geographical curiosity, are very character-driven, and have universal appeal.

Dorothy has written a variety of works, including her original Pilots Special Treatment, There's Only Juan, Alice's, Seasonal WidowsUnicorns, and feature  scripts Going All InSangue di Mio Sangue, Estar Roto, The Boy from Amrtisar, Sabiya and Sorelle.    

 

She was the winner of the prestigious award from RoadMap Writers/Route One Entertainment.  For details please click here .

 

Her work has also been recognized in a variety of competitions, including The Academy Nicholl's Fellowship, Austin Film Festival, BlueCat Screenplay Competition,  WeScreenplay competition, Happy Writer's Pilot Fellowship and the Tracking Board's Launch Pad Competition, among others.
